Bios ROGER LEATHERWOOD (Director, co-writer, Theatre Manager) has written 20 scripts in the last 12 years, while working in movie theatres. His work has placed highly in various contests,
including the Nichols Fellowship and the Empire Screenwriting Competition. He shot Usher
in his movie theatre nights from midnight to 8 a.m. over the course of 15 weeks. His
next project, "Drive She Said," a road movie, is described as a cross between "L'Avventura"
and "I Spit on Your Grave." Usher is his first feature.
PAM BUCHIGNANI (Producer) graduated from NYU with a degree in Film & Television in January of 1999.
While at NYU she produced several undergraduate shorts, and attended a producing workshop at USC. Since then, she has worked in development at Paramount Pictures for various producers learning how (and how not) to make big budget features.
She began working with Roger Leatherwood in 1998 developing independent feature projects together. Her script, SLUTS, to be directed by Rob Schmidt (Wrong Turn) is in pre-production.
THOMAS ALEXANDER (Ash) began his acting career at the Ensemble Theatre Company in Mill Valley, California in 1990. He completed Mike Nichols's New Actor's Workshop in New
York City in 1996, and then relocated to Minneapolis to act in the Guthrie Theatre's JULIUS CAESAR. Thomas spent several months in Lithuania, where he did principal and extra work on the syndicated television show, ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES. His other work includes roles in several independent films and a CD-ROM production directed by Rob Nilsson. He's also seen in F. Gary Gray's "The Italian Job" starring Mark Wahlberg, and an
episode of "Alias."
JASON R. HOUSTON (co-producer, casting director, Blake) is a multi-talented local theatre artist, and co-founder of Pulse Films production company. He recently directed the DV feature DEAD CITY. He's appeared professionally in the Bay Area, Chicago, New York City, and around the U.K.
GARY YAP (Executive Producer) is an artist/producer who continues to support up-and-coming artists under the guidance of his Art Over Life Studios. In addition to working as an animator for Foxs hit TV series, King of the Hill and The Simpsons he was also CEO of the now-defunct EPIC Pro Wrestling. He is currently working as the lead designer for Pro Wrestling WAR and is developing the horror rave script, Dead Inside, with Roger Leatherwood. CHRIS RASMUSSEN (Director of Photography) is a Bay Area photographer active in the independent film scene. He has experience working in many formats: from super 8 to 35mm to HD digital. He shot the festival-hopping short Will Martin's "Estuary Hounds." Usher is his first feature. He is currently collecting underwater footage for his own feature-length documentary. RIP REED (Sound Director, Co-producer) has worked both behind the scenes and in front of the camera on numerous local film and music projects, including the award-winning animated short "The Hunger Artist" by Tom Gibbons and Malcolm Sherwood's feature "Oblique Maneuvers." |
